On June 18, 2024, middle school teachers from Baltimore City Public Schools (BCPS) had their first of two summer visits to the HU Beltsville Campus (HUBC) for their Earth/Space Science tour. The teachers had the opportunity to learn atmospheric science from hands on research here at HUBC. They had the chance to see and launch a weather balloon, learned about the measurements taken at the site, and interact with the staff in charge of the facility. But the big take away from the visit was HUBC staff showcasing household experiments of how the atmosphere works so the teachers can recreate them in their classrooms.
